+ Engineer

The Engineer position at MakoRabco encompasses a number of responsibilities, tasks and procedures that are all aimed at providing accurate and timely updates of engineering for each project and keeping the Engineering department moving forward.

+ Key Responsibilities

• Perform structural designs from concept through completion of construction
• Prepare engineering design calculations and structural system layouts, specific design including but not limited to cold-formed steel design, structural steel design, masonry design, concrete design, retaining wall design, shear wall design, etc.
• Value engineering steel members and steel assemblies in order to increase profit margin.
• Provide guidance and instructions to designers during drafting process.
• Provide technical support to drafters, estimators, salespersons, procurement department, and construction project managers.
• Collaborate and coordinate structural design requirements with Architects, Civil Engineers, Developers, etc.
• Building codes and construction techniques, research, write and review specifications.
• Review shop drawings, RFI's and submittals.
• Conduct site visits when needed.

+ Qualifications

• Registered Professional Engineer License preferred, or has the ability to obtaim Engineer License within in one year.
• Structural Engineering Design experience in Cold Formed Steel Structures and Pre-Engineers metal buildings is preferred.
• Minimum 4 year college degree in Civil Engineering with an emphasis on Structural Engineering or related field.
• Proficient in structural design software such as MathCAD, EnerCalc, RSG CFS, AutoCAD, Revit, etc.
• Understanding of building materials, systems, assemblies and construction.
• Goal oriented with strong skills in problem solving, creativity and attention to detail.
