Role Description The Specialty Structural Engineer will work in a full-time, fully remote, hybrid or in-office capacity. Day-to-day responsibilities include performing structural analysis, design, and preparing calculation packages for delegated design submittals including structural steel, cold-form steel and aluminum structures. The role involves coordinating with architects, engineers and contractors to ensure integrated and compliant designs. The Specialty Structural Engineer will need to think creatively to solve unique engineering challenges for building and non-building type structures. This role also includes maintaining quality standards, mentoring, meeting project deadlines, and contributing to internal process improvement and knowledge sharing.

 

Qualifications

  • Strong foundation in Structural Engineering, with demonstrated experience in building code compliant designs.
  • Proficiency in Structural Analysis and performing detailed engineering Calculations for various structural systems.
  • Experience with AutoCAD and Revit.
  • Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Structural or Civil Engineering, or ability to obtain licensure in relevant states.
  • Knowledge of applicable building codes and standards (e.g., IBC, ASCE, ACI, AISC, AISI) and their practical application to design.
  • Ability to work effectively in a remote environment, manage multiple projects, and meet deadlines with minimal supervision.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills for collaborating with multidisciplinary teams and external partners.
  • Bachelor’s degree or higher in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience with cold-form framing and aluminum.
  • Ability to mentor and delegate work to EITs and technicians.
